Frameless sliding internal glass doors – An excellent way to separate two rooms is with glass sliding doors. Internal glass sliding doors have many benefits, making them a great addition to any home. A glass sliding door is like a large window allowing natural light to be transferred from one room to the next. They are especially useful if one of the rooms does not have its own natural light source. Very suitable when you want to maximise space and sliding glass doors are easy and quick to open and close.
It should be noted that any doors designated by the building code authorities as internal fire doors could not be replaced with these frameless type glass doors. Fire doors are constructed to withstand the heat of a raging fire and full sheet glass doors would not be suitable in this instance.

Glass Specification
The glass used in internal glass panel doors must be toughened (sometimes referred to as tempered glass, tempered safety glass, strengthened glass) type minimum 8 mm up to 12 mm thick toughened safety glass to meet the current building code. This type of glass is 5 to 7 times stronger than standard glass of the same thickness. In the event that a glass door is broken with toughen glass it will instantly shatter in small harmless pieces known as dice. The edges are polished smooth so not to cause an injury. The door is then predrilled with holes for the locks, hinges etc.
